Shoes for Spring

One of the reasons why I love Spring / Summer trends are the shoes.

I just realized that I've never done a post on my favourite style accessory before - footwear! I was checking out style.com one day and came across all these delicious shoes that I wished I owned. Some of the designers I have not even heard of before.

I usually look for unique details when it comes to buying shoes. I'm loving all these kitschy heels and sandals, and wishing money fall from trees so I can buy them all...

Flight of Fancy

Little perks of the job gave my colleagues and I a golden opportunity to visit the Cathay Pacific's Business & First Class Lounge at the KLIA Satellite Building. Sadly, we weren't flying to Hong Kong or anywhere in particular so it was only a drop-in, drop-out kinda visit. As usual, to head to the Satellite Building we had to take the Aerotrain, and it felt a bit odd not carrying any hand luggage...

I've never flew on First Class before, however, I did fly on Business Class to Singapore on Malaysia Airlines (MAS). Both Cathay Pacific and MAS' lounges present a vast difference, but I won't compare. Both are equally exclusive in their own rights. I'll let the pictures for Cathay Pacific's speak for themselves.

Weighing the Issue

It's been a little over a year since our wedding and naturally I've put back on all the weight that I specifically lost for the wedding, which is almost 5kg! I'm horrified to find that some of my clothes now have a snugger fit - oh the horrors!

Today I told myself that I will try to eat healthy, run (even if its just 10 minutes on weekends) and try to minimize snacking. The only snack that I allow are fruits so this morning before leaving for work I cut myself an apple for my teatime snack. Breakfast is maybe a sandwich or cornflakes with lowfat milk... it really depends on my tastebuds' preference.

Having typed all of the above, I'm not a person who's obsessed with weight. I think skinny people look malnourished. But I do know that some clothes look better on slim people - and notice that I used the word "slim", and not "skinny". We'll see how my mission ends.

Anyway, I think Katherine Heigl has the best shape. She always looks healthy and radiant. Her smile is infectious too. Agree?

Golden Globes 2013

The Golden Globes have come and gone. Here are my picks of celebrity styles on the red carpet. Ballgowns are my favourite and I love how young and fun Zooey Deschanel looks in her Oscar de la Renta.

Which are your favourites?

Dinner at 8

There were lots of travelling for us over the weekend for a cousin's wedding!

Weddings are lovely, but when it comes to searching for something to wear, it's ridiculously tedious! Does anyone of you share my sentiment? My closet is bursting at the seams, but yet it's never enough.

Alwin and I travelled up north out-of-state on Friday night for the Chinese wedding tea ceremony which took place early yesterday morning, before coming back the same day for the wedding reception.

I finally decided on this lace peplum dress for the reception at Mutiara Palace Restaurant near Ikea. This is my second time wearing this dress (the first was also to another wedding), but the first time I'm blogging about it.

Enjoy the rest of the day :)

Burberry AW13 Livestream Menswear Show in Milan

I've always got a thing for men in dashing suits. There's something about a well-cut suit that can spruce up the most unkempt appearance. And also the androgynous look - it's oh so sexy. Note to self: Go shop for a satin tuxedo jacket and a white shirt after this.

Here's an idea: Perhaps you may want to tune in to the Burberry Autumn Winter 2013 Livestream Menswear show direct from Milan for some runway inspirations. The countdown begins today and it's going live on 12 January at 11.30pm local time right here for your viewing pleasure! :) Enjoy!

(Only Google Chrome and Firefox users will be able to view the livestream)

Shiny New Outfits

It's always essential to start the New Year with a bang, style-wise, so it's time to raid the closets or hit the mall! Three very important elements for me, at least for the first quarter of the year are Sparkles, Lace and an Overload of Colours.

Sparkles:
Contrary to popular belief, sequins are not all-about night time parties :)

#1 Cupcakes and Cashmere / #2 The Lovelee Girl / #3 Adorn London

Lace:

Always artsy, never trashy

I love Zooey Deschanel's style, by the way

Rainbow Colours:
Better than the Little Black Dress are candy-coloured outfits inspired by the rainbow!

#7 Savvy Spice / #8 Luxpresso / #9 Put Your Hearts Upp
